"A Very Important Milestone" For The AW159-Based Aircraft
The first of 62 Wildcat helicopters which have been ordered for
the Royal Navy and Army has successfully undertaken its first test
flight at AgustaWestland's Yeovil plant in Somerset. With Chief
Test Pilot, Don Maclaine, at the controls, the aircraft undertook a
short flight to assess handling characteristics.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit denied a
request for a rehearing of the Federal Circuit's prior decision
sustaining the government's default termination of the A-12
aircraft contract on Tuesday. General Dynamics and Boeing were
parties to the contract with the Navy.
Fuel Simultaneously Transferred To Two Fighter Aircraft
The A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (A330 MRTT) has performed
the first simultaneous fuel transfer with its all-digital
hose-and-drogue system, fueling two fighter aircraft at the same
time. The A330 MRTT conducted 11 simultaneous airborne refueling
contacts with two NATO F/A-18 fighters.

Recovery Effort
Weather permitting on Monday, November 30, a World War II, F6F-3
Hellcat fighter plane will be raised from the depths of Lake
Michigan off the Chicago shoreline. The plane has rested on the
lake bottom for more than sixty years after crashing during a
training exercise.
