The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO)
have announced that the remains of two U.S. servicemen, missing
from the Vietnam War, have been identified. They are Maj. Robert F.
Woods, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Capt. Johnnie C. Cornelius, of
Maricopa County, AZ, both US Air Force. Cornelius was buried with
full military honors on Nov. 10 in Moore, Texas, and Woods' burial
is being set by his family.
China Denies Miscommunication Kept Ship Out Of Port
It's a classic he-said, she-said situation... except this one
involved two heads-of-state, and plenty of firepower. On Thursday,
Chinese officials denied statements last week's alleged
misunderstanding -- that kept the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk
from docking in Hong Kong for a long-planned Thanksgiving holiday
visit -- was in fact a misunderstanding at all.
Pratt & Whitney tells ANN it has delivered the first F135
short-takeoff/vertical-landing (STOVL) propulsion system, including
the Rolls-Royce Lift System, to Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, TX.
The propulsion system will support airframe and engine interface
evaluations for the first STOVL F-35 flight test aircraft,
scheduled for first flight in May 2008.
