Orion UAS, Centaur OPA To Be Integrated With Common Control Station

Applications Include MALE UAS Missions

An alliance has been formed between AAI Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Aurora Flight Sciences to integrate AAI's Universal Ground Control Station (UGCS) and other ground control technologies with Aurora's Orion UAS and Centaur Optionally Piloted Aircraft (OPA). This pairing supports medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) missions of up to five days with the Orion UAS, as well as defense, first responder and scientific missions with the Centaur OPA.

Kiowa Warrior Demonstrates Manned, Unmanned Capability

Army Test Flights Conducted At Utah Proving Grounds

A Bell OH 58 Kiowa Warrior has successfully demonstrated several capabilities that will enable interoperability among multiple aviation platforms, such as manned and unmanned vehicles. The exercise was conducted at the Manned Unmanned System Integration Capability (MUSIC) demonstration, sponsored by the U.S. Army at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah on September 15 & 16, 2011.

Fort Campbell's New Helicopter Simulator Provides Virtual Training

Runs Crews Through Paces In CH-47 And UH-60 Scenarios

It looked like a scene out of a science fiction movie at Fort Campbell, KY, one recent Wednesday morning as a group of 101st Combat Aviation Brigade noncommissioned officers trained on a new simulator for the first time. The Non-rated Crew Member Manned Module, or NCM3, came to post last week to be used for the first time beyond the testing stages. The module is a simulator that was created to train helicopter crews on the rear of both the CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk.

Live, Stable Video Streamed From UAS In Arctic Exercise

ScanEagle UAS Provides Live, Stable Video To Troops And Operations Center

AS part of the largest military exercise to date in the Far North, a ScanEagle UAS was able to deliver a live video stream to Canadian Forces in the field. Operation Nanook brought together Canadian Forces, its security partners and numerous federal, territorial and municipal governments to conduct sovereignty operations and security exercises in Canada's Northwest Passage.
