Lockheed Martin's F-35A successfully flew from Fort Worth, TX to California's Edwards Air Force Base on October 1, to begin expanded flight testing and initiate test activities at Edwards. Flying non-stop for more than 1,000 nautical miles, this was the aircraft's first long-range, cross-country flight.

Demonstrated at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), we were incredibly impressed at the apparent accuracy of the model (ANN's Jim Campbell has plenty of Twin Otter time -- the aircraft used in the icing encounter sim model -- and knows only too well that the icing behavior they displayed is what he has experienced, personally, in real icing conditions).

Goodrich To Equip Army UH-60s With Vehicle Health Management Systems

Contract Valued At $300 Million Over Program Life

Goodrich Corporation has received a contract from the US Army to provide up to 1,000 Vehicle Health Management Systems (VHMS) for UH-60A/L Black Hawk helicopters. The five-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is potentially valued at up to $300 million and covers deliveries through 2013.

Curtiss-Wright Awarded F-16 Production Contract From Lockheed Martin

Follow-On Contract For Wing Components Valued At Over $14 Million

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics has awarded Curtiss-Wright Corporation a multi-year production contract valued at over $14 million to provide leading edge flap rotary actuators and attachment tie bars for the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The agreement is a follow-on contract to Curtiss-Wright's existing production contract with Lockheed Martin.
