The State of Israel is now flying a state-of the-art Airborne
Warning and Control System (AWACS) surveillance aircraft that in
some ways is superior to the Boeing E-3's flown by the US Air
Force.
In light of Pakistan's possible purchase of up to 44 F-16s,
Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Marshal S. P. Tyagi has written to
the Indian government defense ministry asking for more multi-role
aircraft to help maintain air superiority for his nation.
