Auxiliarist Kevin Gallagher, of Nashville, TN is a member of
Flotilla 11-4 of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Eigth District, Eastern
Region and is a Coast Guard Auxiliary Aircraft Commander. He
recently spent a week at Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans
helping out after Hurricane Katrina.
"Retirement" Of Last F-5 Leaves Island Nation "Practically
Defenseless"
Saying the retirement of his country's last F-5 fighter leaves
the Philippines without an adequate air defense, Senate Minority
Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. Tuesday called on his country to
rebuild its air force or risk an attack by another country.
Northrop Grumman Corporation says it has completed acceptance
testing of the first production version of a new integrated sensor
suite that will enhance imaging capability for the US Air Force.
The milestone clears the way for the company to begin installing
the improved sensor package, which includes electro-optical and
infrared cameras and synthetic aperture radar, on its RQ-4A Global
Hawk air vehicles.
The Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Weapon System with its
prototype Aegis BMD Signal Processor (Aegis BSP) successfully
tracked an advanced ballistic missile target. This test was the
second at-sea tracking event for the Aegis BSP. Lockheed Martin
develops the Aegis BMD Weapon System and serves as the Combat
System Engineering Agent for Aegis BMD.
