Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) and Thales Australia have named
the Eurocopter EC135 as the preferred platform for their bid on the
Australian Defence Force (ADF) Project AIR 9000 Phase 7 –
Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS).
One Of Six Fatally Injured In Sea Stallion Accident
The Marine Corps pilot of a CH-53D Sea Stallion was laid to rest
Sunday in his hometown of Crystal Lake, IL. Capt. Nathan McHone was
fatally injured when his helicopter went down during a mission in
Helmand province in Afghanistan January 19th. Thousands of people
reportedly lined the streets of the small town northwest of Chicago
as his body was brought home.

New Aircraft Goes To French Armament Procurement Agency
During a visit by the French Defense Minister Gérard
Longuet to its facilities in Marignane, Eurocopter officially
delivered the first NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopter (TTH)
qualified in its final operational configuration to the French
armament procurement agency Monday. This initial delivery comes on
the heels of the qualification issued by the NAHEMA countries last
November for the French NH90 TTH in its final operational
configuration.
