International Varient Of The Black Hawk Being Built At Sikorsky
Facility In Poland
The first S-70i Black Hawk helicopter, an international variant
of the Black Hawk helicopter, is nearing completion on the assembly
line at PZL Mielec, a Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. company in
Poland.
Helping Determine The Extent Of Damage, Locate Potential
Airfields
An RQ-4 Global Hawk is providing imagery to determine the extent
of damage to earthquake-stricken Haiti and usability of its
infrastructure, an Air Force official said during a Department of
Defense Bloggers Roundtable January 15.
As some 200 daily flights transit through the congested and sole
functioning Haitian airport in the capital of Port-au-Prince, the
U.S. military is looking to open a second runway in the city of
Jacmel within a day.
