C-17s Will Fly Over 150 Tons Of Cargo And Supplies
The Air Force has begun airlifting Rwandan peacekeeping
equipment and supplies from Rwanda to Sudan's Darfur region as part
of a United Nations-African Union peacekeeping mission.
The Air Force is "all in" with regard to unmanned aerial
systems, and the service's leaders understand Defense Secretary
Robert M. Gates' direction to field the systems in the combat
theater as fully and quickly as possible, the commander of 12th Air
Force and Air Forces Southern said January 12.

The Advanced Turbine Engine Company, LLC (ATEC), a Honeywell and
Pratt & Whitney joint venture, has successfully completed the
Preliminary Design Review by the US Army Aviation Applied
Technology Directorate (AATD) and other government customers for
the Advanced Affordable Turbine Engine (AATE) technology
demonstrator program.
