Association's Q2 Spending On Lobbying Up 4%

It's always interesting to read what special interest groups spend on lobbying. Turnabout is fair play, and the Associated Press reports the special interest lobby known as the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association spent $730,000 advocating GA causes with lawmakers in the second quarter of this year, up from $700,000 in the same quarter last year.

Downsview Park Shuts Down Toronto's Canadian Air & Space Museum

Hoped-For Reprieve Turned Out To Be Access For The Purpose Of An "Orderly Wind-Down" Of Operations

Toronto's Canadian Air & Space Museum received notice from its landlord, Parc Downsview Park, on Saturday that the Park would be locking the doors and closing the Museum to regular business. The Park, a branch of the Canadian federal government, has control over the Museum's access after changing the locks following Tuesday's original eviction notice.

Thorp T-18 Down In Michigan, Pilot Fatally Injured

Pilots Were Heading To Breakfast, Fog May Have Been A Factor

A Thorp T-18 flown by its owner went down on approach to Plainwell Municipal Airport (61D) in Michigan Friday morning. Witnesses said that the aircraft apparently impacted a Fed-Ex semi truck traveling on U.S. 131 just a short distance from the runway threshold. The pilot was fatally injured.
