Despite Eviction, Canadian Air And Space Museum Says It's Turning Its Biz Around

Museum Officials Say They Have Resumed Daily Operations

The Canadian Air And Space Museum is literally fighting for it's life following an eviction notice and the changing of the locks on its buildings on Tuesday by landlord Parc Downsview Park, which is an agency of the Canadian federal government. In a newsletter forwarded to ANN by museum officials, they say they are decidedly not "calling it quits," and are back in business for the time being.

FAA Approves Use Of 100VLL Gasoline In 100LL Engines

Maximum Lead Content Is Reduced By 19% In New Fuel

The FAA has issued a Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) indicating that grade 100VLL aviation gasoline meeting the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) fuel specification D910 is acceptable for use on aircraft and engines certificated for operation with D910 grades 80, 91, 100, and 100LL aviation gasolines.

Cessna: Skycatcher Surpasses 100 Deliveries

Adds Flight Training Schools To Cessna Pilot Center Network

Cessna Aircraft Company said Thursday at the AOPA Aviation Summit in Hartford that it has surpassed 100 deliveries of the Model 162 Skycatcher light sport aircraft. The milestone 100th aircraft was delivered to Sporty’s Pilot Shop this summer and will be given away in Sporty’s annual drawing early next year. Cessna began deliveries of the Skycatcher in December 2009 and has received orders for more than 1,000 of the aircraft.

The Civil Air Patrol and the Recreational Aviation Foundation are among the recipients of $10,000 grants from the Lightspeed Aviation Foundation. The grant winners were announced Friday. Five aviation organizations were chosen by pilots casting votes for their favorite among the twenty finalists announced in March.

Death Of Veteran Skydiver Ruled A Suicide

Intentionally Unhooked 'Chute, Died On Impact With The Ground

Investigators are puzzled by the suicide of a skydiver. 60-year-old Bob Raecke of Duanesburg, NY had lots of experience, with 9,000 logged jumps. For some reason, last Sunday, he stepped out of an airplane near Saratoga Skydiving Adventures, but instead of deplying his parachute, he intentionally unhooked his rig, and died on impact with the ground.
