LED Lighting Will Improve Safety At Far North BC Airfield
The Northern Canadian Tsay Keh Dene First Nation is outfitting a
remote airfield with solar LED lighting systems provided by
Carmanah Technologies. The new airfield lights will help supply and
medevac aircraft navigate their way to and from the remote village
located on the northern end of the Williston Reservoir, British
Columbia. The solar-powered airfield project was one of two
projects funded by the Canadian Government’s Innovative Clean
Energy Fund.

The chairman of the FCC on Tuesday told reporters that the
agency would not allow LightSquared to interfere with millions of
GPS receivers on which pilots, mariners, and the public rely for
navigation. The remarks came in a news conference following the
commissions' monthly meeting.

U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) on Tuesday
introduced the “Furloughed FAA Employees Compensation
Act”, which would grant the U.S. Secretary of Transportation
the authority to pay the salaries and related benefits of those
federal employees who were furloughed during the partial shutdown
of the FAA.
