Role Of ATC Will Be Examined When Determining Cause
In its continuing investigation of the midair collision of an
air tour helicopter and a small plane over the Hudson River on
Saturday, the National Transportation Safety Board has developed
factual information.
Following last week's mid-air collision between a sightseeing
helicopter and a private airplane over the Hudson River, FAA
Administrator Randy Babbitt said the agency would look into new
rules governing low-altitude flight in the congested corridor.
But Total General Aviation Market Remains Contracted In The
Second Quarter
On August 4th, GAMA released the industry's second quarter
shipment and billings figures. Piston-powered airplane shipments
totaled 434 units while turboprop shipments were at 191 units. Both
figures represent significant declines from the same period last
year.
