Following the tragic fatal crash of a Velocity 173RG in Las Vegas, NV, a local official from the Clark County Aviation Authority is grabbing some headlines. The Aviation Director, Randy Walker, is apparently calling for the banishment of experimental aircraft from the North las Vegas Airport -- which is supposed to be a "reliever" for the even busier Las Vegas International Airport (McCarran), to the South.

Oklahoma Airport Weather Monitoring Systems Scheduled For Upgrade

 Plans are reportedly on schedule to install state-of-the-art Automated Weather Observing Systems (AWOS) at three airports in Oklahoma this fall. The unmanned AWOS systems will provide continuously updated weather information to pilots and ground personnel at Blackwell-Tonkawa Municipal Airport near Tulsa, Clarence E. Page Municipal Airport outside Oklahoma City, and Stigler Regional Airport in eastern Oklahoma.
