The flight line at AirVenture has a handsome new feature as the rotorcraft segment of the aviation industry is well represented by a new, branded Heli-Center complete with a beautiful mezzanine that looks directly out on Runway 18/36 at Wittman Field. HAI estimates hundreds of attendees at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh Wisconsin visited the HAI Heli-Center on opening day of AirVenture 2011.

FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt made his third appearance at AirVenture as head of the regulatory agency, and in many ways gave the same speech as he has the past two years. Some of the issues have changed. Babbitt called on Congress to "immediately pass a clean extension" of the continuing resolution which has kept the agency open since 2007, and to pass a long-term funding bill for the agency.
