Tom Poberezny Makes It Official, Announces Retirement

Tom Poberezny, who has led EAA as president and later CEO since 1989, announced Tuesday that he was retiring from the organization "to take time to do what I want to do." Poberezny made the announcement at 1230 CDT in front of the iconic brown arch on the Wittman Field flight line.

FAA Grants STC For Pure Electronic Ignition

Computerized Ignition Can Be Installed In Certified Aircraft

The first FAA Supplement Type Certificate (STC) for a pure electronic general aviation piston engine ignition system has been granted to Electroair for its first to advance ignition. The initial STC, announced at AirVenture Monday, is engine specific for all Lycoming four cylinder engines installed on Cessna Aircraft – additional airframe eligibility will be added over the next few months.

Superior Air Parts has been in negotiations with suppliers as it ramps back up, and has discovered that some costs are coming in lower than projected, allowing reduced prices for some specific components including some Millennium cylinder assemblies.
