Coast Guard Rescues Survivors From Airplane Down Near Petersburg, Alaska

One Passenger On The Sightseeing Flight Fatally Injured

The U.S. Coast Guard has located and rescued the survivors of a plane crash near Petersburg, Tuesday. A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew safely hoisted and transported six survivors and one deceased passenger to Petersburg, after locating the downed de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver near Le Conte Bay.

NTSB Cites Pilot Error In 2011 Cirrus Accident

Report: Evidence Suggests Right-Seat Pilot Attempted Aerobatic Maneuver At A Low Altitude

The NTSB has released its probable cause report in an accident involving a 2008 Cirrus SR22 which went down in a wildlife refuge near Boynton Beach, FL. According to the report, two friends were flying back from an air show along with two other airplanes when one of the two pilots on board the Cirrus attempted a low-altitude aileron roll. Both pilots on board the aircraft were fatally injured by the impact.

AEA Issues First Quarter 2013 Avionics Market Report

Industry Total Avionics Sales Amount To More Than $1.7 Billion

The Aircraft Electronics Association has released its first quarterly Avionics Market Report. In the first three months of 2013, total worldwide avionics sales amounted to $1,706,006,894.49, or more than $1.7 billion, as reported by the 20 aviation electronics manufacturers participating in the report.
