Homeland Security Still Says 'Steady Vigilance Must Be
Maintained'
A report dated May 27th by the Department of Homeland Security
Inspector General's office concludes what most of us have said for
some time. That "general aviation presents only limited and mostly
hypothetical threats to security."
They came in from as far as New York, Florida and Ohio and many
people remarked on the wide mix of rare and unusual aircraft parked
along the two closed runways. Powered parachutes, ultralights,
prize-winning homebuilts, careful restorations among them a P-51,
two SNJs and a YAK were in the mix.
This SAFO emphasizes the necessity for operators of all
aircraft, and especially the Learjet Model 60, to maintain the
correct tire pressure by checking cold tire pressure at the
intervals recommended by the manufacturer.
Babbitt Testimony Before House Transportation Subcommittee
FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt testified Tuesday before the
House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, requesting
nearly $16 billion for the agency next fiscal year.

flight schools around the United States replace their training
fleets.
