If this is what we end up with, general aviation will win the
user fee battle... but that's a BIG "if." The Aircraft Owners and
Pilots Association says release of the FAA Reauthorization Act of
2007 from the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee is a
giant step forward... though the group cautions we're far from the
end of a 12-step process.
As ANN reported, Wednesday
evening the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee
introduced its version of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2007. The
General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) commends the
House for this bipartisan legislation that significantly
strengthens the effort to modernize the national air transportation
system.
Shown To Customers Wednesday; Public Unveiling Thursday
Afternoon
"the-jet"... is here. On Wednesday, Cirrus Design Corporation
fulfilled its promise to a select group of customers by giving them
the world's first look at "the-jet" -- the most anticipated new
aircraft in the company's history. Each guest had placed a $100,000
deposit for their first "personal" jet.
May Spell Trouble For Bill's Chances Of Avoiding Bush Veto
Bring on the amendments. On Thursday, the US House
Transportation & Infrastructure Committee voted to include two
amendments which have strong support in Congress... but may
endanger the bill's chances of avoiding a presidential veto.
