Cessna 172 Pilot Came Within 30 Miles Of Nation's Capital
The FAA is investigating the flight of a Cessna 172 which had
departed from New York, and which crossed the prohibited airspace
boundary over Washington, D.C. "several times" Tuesday around
1800.

ANN is saddened by the news of the death of John L. Baker, who
served as the president of AOPA from 1977 through 1990. He was only
the second person to serve in that capacity.
Full Senate Debate Can Begin, Members Can Offer Amendments
Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) has lifted his hold on the FAA
reauthorization bill, which has been bottled up in the Senate
because of language in the House version of the bill that
Corker and Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) say would be harmful to
Memphis-Based FedEx.
On March 8th, 1910, French balloonist Raymonde de Laroche became
the first woman ever issued a pilots license, making this past
Monday the 100th anniversary of women as pilots. In celebration of
that milestone, women pilots across the country set aside some time
to take women and girls flying.
Focus Is On Preparing Future Pilots For The Right Seat
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will convene the 2010
National Training Aircraft Symposium (NTAS 2010) March 14-17 at its
Daytona Beach campus. The theme of the event is "Preparing Future
Pilots for the Right Seat."
