Diamond Aircraft delivered 26% more aircraft in 2005 than the
previous year, according to General Aviation Manufacturing
Association (GAMA) statistics. Contributing to Diamond's increased
sales were the introduction of the DA42 Twin Star, increased
production of the DA40 Diamond Star and strong export sales.
Aero-News first reported on the Gaston
County (NC) police department's plans to deploy a CyberBug
UAV earlier this month. At the time, AOPA's Chris
Dancy told ANN the association would be contacting the FAA to
address the issue... and AOPA reports the FAA has acted... sort
of.
The FAA wants to put a new radar tower somewhere near Allentown,
PA. The agency thought they'd found the perfect spot for it, too --
on land owned by Lehigh University. Just one problem: the school
isn't selling.
