Victoria Kuo, Chief Flight Instructor For New Horizon Aviation,
To Lead The Group
The Rhode Island Chapter of the IMC Clubs will be led by
Victoria Kuo, the Chief Flight Instructor of the New Horizon
Aviation in Providence. As a highly qualified volunteer Ms. Kuo was
chosen to provide her expertise in flight education to the Club.
Rhode Island Chapter meetings will take place every third Thursday
at 6:30 PM, starting in January 2012, and will be held at the
Horizon Aviation offices, at T.F. Green Airport in Providence,
RI.
Appareo Systems says it has undertaken a significant software
development project with CHC Helicopter, providing the
world’s largest helicopter services company with an
innovative and robust electronic flight bag (EFB) application. The
CHC EFB software will run on the Apple iPad, continuing CHC’s
commitment to leveraging advanced technology to achieve a
completely paperless cockpit environment.
Cites Difficult Economy In Asking For Debt Forgiveness
Piper has asked officials in Indian River County, FL, to re-open
the terms of the incentive package it was given in 2008 to open its
Vero Beach facility. The company says difficult economic times are
making it hard to repay the incentives extended at the time.
First OEM Application To Start Deliveries In Early 2012
GE Aviation says a celebration in Prague was held recently to
commemorate the certification by EASA of the company's new
turboprop engine, the H80. The powerplant is rated at 800 shaft
horsepower and weighs 382 pounds. It has been undergoing testing on
the Thrush 510G ag plane.
NTSB Factual Report Released In August Non-Fatal Forced
Landing
Sometimes it's the little things which can cause the biggest
problems. The NTSB has released a factual report from a forced
landing in Kodiak, AK, in August, and the board is focusing on a
missing lock nut on the throttle linkage to the Piper Saratoga's
engine.
