Kansas State Aviation Department Head Named As Association's
New President
R. Kurt Barnhart of Kansas State University at Salina (K-State),
recently assumed the University Aviation Association's (UAA) top
elected position as president for 2010-11.
TechTrend, IBM Partnership Wins Business Worth $6.3
Million
The FAA has awarded a $ 6.3 million contract to TechTrend for
contractor support to assist FAA in planning, implementing, and
monitoring the Data Center Consolidation Initiative(DCCI).
A Few Hours In The Air Prove The R66 Has The Right Stuff
I've been waiting for this one for quite a while and I'm
delighted to report that the result was worth the wait. The new R66
Turbine Five seat helicopter is a helluva machine and a joy to fly
-- and in a number of flight regimes. Some three years and
eight months after Robinson publicly announced plans to develop the
beast, the FAA presented Frank Robinson with Type Certificate No.
R00015LA, just a few weeks back. The FAA also presented Robinson
with an amended Production Certificate that now includes the R66,
allowing Robinson to begin deliveries right away.
As part of its continuing investigation into a plane crash in
Montana, the National Transportation Safety Board will open the
public accident docket on Friday, December 3, 2010.
