The FAA has finalized a federal rule, effective November 19,
2009, that will enhance safety by separating low-altitude, local
aircraft flights over the Hudson River from flights transiting
through the river airspace.
The State of Ohio plans to sell six of the 11 aircraft in its
fleet as a cost savings measure, but even though two of the
aircraft have not flown for over a year, the state still hopes it
can bring in as much as $875,000 for the aircraft.
U.S. And Europe Share Air Traffic Management Research
Researchers in the United States and Europe are working out
standard approaches to communications, navigation and surveillance
so that aircraft crossing the Atlantic will only need one set of
avionics to interact with both networks.
