Representatives with the Civil Air Patrol tell ANN two
highly-regarded members of the Civil Air Patrol -- Col. Edwin W.
Lewis Jr., director of operations for CAP’s Pacific Region,
and Col. Dion E. DeCamp, commander of CAP’s Nevada Wing --
died Thursday evening when their CAP Cessna 182 impacted
mountainous terrain south of Las Vegas.
Quest Aircraft told ANN Friday of the successful first flight of
S/N002, the second production Kodiak turboprop to take to the
skies. The aircraft, which will be delivered to the customer early
next month, flew for about an hour on Tuesday, November 6. S/N002
joins S/N001 and the Kodiak prototype in the fleet, as work on the
production line continues to accelerate.

Spurred on by two separate accidents involving helicopters
conducting air tour operations over the Grand Canyon, on Thursday
the National Transportation Safety Board issued recommendations to
the Federal Aviation Administration and the Tour Operators Program
of Safety geared towards weeding out problem pilots, before they
can cause accidents.
