The FAA has granted STC approval to Avidyne Corporation for the
installation of their Entegra Release 9 Integrated Flight Deck (R9)
in the Piper PA-46 Matrix aircraft, the company announced
Wednesday.
City and FAA officials gathered with golden shovels at
Pittsfield Municipal Airport (KPSF) in Massachusetts to turn the
first dirt on a planned expansion of the facility. The ceremony was
the culmination of 12 years of planning.

The FAA has told Hilton Head Island airport officials that any
proposal to extend the runway on the resort island to less than
5,000 feet would receive a cool reception from the agency, and
would be difficult to justify in terms of funding.
