There are few more contentious issues facing GA right now as the
question about what will eventually replace 100LL. There are few
folks working hard to address the issue, but they all report that
they're facing serious hurdles in not only perfecting their product
but wading through the bureaucratic processes necessary to make
their fuel a reality. ANN had the chance to spend some quality time
with a number of the folks behind the Swift Fuel program, one of he
more prominent players in the race to replace 100LL -- and the
conversations were intriguing -- and educational.

When it comes to the people, planes and products of the aviation
business, ANN firmly believes there is no such thing as an
embarrassment of riches. 2010, as usual, saw a spate of new
products, programs and 'gadgets' designed to separate a pilot from
his flying dollar... fortunately, the vast majority of them are
quite worthy of foregoing a few (or more) $500 hamburgers.
Accident Involving Senator Ted Stevens Prompts The Move
The NTSB today issued two safety recommendations to the FAA
requiring a detailed inspection of all emergency locator
transmitters (ELT) installed on GA aircraft to ensure that their
mountings maintain their retention capabilities during an accident
sequence.
