ANN has been monitoring reports of problems with a number of the
Garmin GPSMAP portable series. According to Garmin sources, device
using GXM30/30A/40 antennas are currently having problems with
receiving XM WX transmissions and the resultant display of that
data.

Talk about a 'd'oh!" moment… when we first heard that yet
another variant of the Malibu series was coming forth from Piper,
our reaction was simple… what else could they add to this

If you inadvertently enter icing conditions, your primary
responsibility is to maintain control of the aircraft. Activate all
anti-icing and de-icing equipment. If equipped, turn cabin heat on
full defrost, turn on the pitot-heat, and activate the alternate
induction air. Communicate the state of your situation to air
traffic control. Clearly state the urgency of your situation.
