ANN Salutes Those Who Did The Most For Aviation And
Aerospace
It is both the most "fun," and most difficult task, facing the
ANN staff at the end of every year -- determining who, or what, did
the most to promote the cause of aviation in the past 365 days...
while also chastising those who did all they could to undermine the
successes the aerospace community has managed to accomplish.
It started when Jerre Hurst, director of the Morehouse Parish,
LA Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, asked
Steve Litchfield, Morehouse Memorial Airport (KBQP) manager, if
there were available aircraft that could be used to develop an
aviation program for young people with an interest in aviation.
A probable cause ruling into a June 22 plane crash that claimed
the lives of a pilot and three high school students near Newry, ME
is still months away, an investigator with the National
Transportation Safety Board said Friday.
