Aero-News: Quote of the Day (09.20.07)

"The only thing that we are announcing today is that we are not assigning seats."

Source: Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly, cutting to the quick during a Wednesday news conference. While it's true Southwest won't break from its "cattle call" boarding system -- at least for now -- starting in November it will assign places in line. Passengers will continue to board by groups A, B, and C... but they'll now have to line up in numerical order.
