Source: Dan Kleas, mayor of Bettles, AK -- a community of less that 50 residents above the Arctic Circle. The tiny village relies almost exclusively on general aviation aircraft as its connection to the outside world... and Kleas says new fees and taxes on general aviation aircraft proposed by the FAA would have a severely detrimental impact on his community's economy, and possibly survival.
