Final Monitor Controller Air Traffic Control Specialist assigned to radar monitor the flight path of aircraft during simultaneous parallel and simultaneous close parallel ILS approach operations. Each runway is assigned a final monitor controller during simultaneous parallel and simultaneous close parallel ILS approaches. Final monitor controllers shall utilize the Precision Runway Monitor (PRM) system during simultaneous close parallel ILS approaches.

Aero-News: Quote Of The Day (04.24.11)

"As soon as EXEC1F contacted the tower, the tower controller asked ECEX1F to make "S" turns on final to get additional spacing. The pilot of EXEC1F did comply with the request, however, the spacing had continued to deteriorate to 2.94 miles. The tower controller then instructed EXEC1F to "go around" because the spacing was not adequate for landing. The weather was reported to be Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC)." Source: From the NTSB Preliminary report describing the go-around necessitated when a USAF Exec 737 approached too close to a C17 that was still on the runway.
