is tape recorded and then transcribed for transmission to the
appropriate air traffic facility.
The new P8 Poseidon is only the lates in a long line of Naval
Patrol Aircraft with squadrons dating back to 1911 ... nearly 100
years. With the first of the P8's arriving for flight testing at
NAS Pax River this week, it seemed like an appropriate time for a
look back at the Navy's previous patrol aircraft and squadrons.
