The US House Aviation Subcommittee hears the story of the
Miracle on the Hudson as related by flight attendants Sheila Dail,
Doreen Welsh, and Donna Dent, and some parting comments on birds
and piloting from First Officer Jeffrey Skiles and Captain Chesley
Sullenberger.
The Order of Daedalians honors, as its Founder Members, all WWI
aviators who were commissioned as officers and rated as military
pilots no later than the Armistice on 11 November 1918. It
perpetuates their names as the first to fly our country's airplanes
in time of war.
An almucantar (also called a "parallel of altitude") is a circle
on the celestial sphere that is parallel to the horizon. It
consists of all points at a given altitude - if two points are on
the same almucantar, they have the same altitude.
