In 1985 I bought a tail-dragging 1946 Cessna 120. I had a lot of
fun, and learned a lot about flying, for seven years in that
machine. Family and friends wondered aloud about the wisdom of

Virgin Atlantic flight this week from Gatwick to Las Vegas. The
Boeing 747 encountered severe turbulence inflight, with enough
force to pitch one passenger out of his seat and onto the ceiling.
By and large, though, passengers reportedly handled the crisis
calmly... until the flight attendant started to scream.
