An on-again, off-again development project that could change the
nature of rotorcraft design has seen the light of day. Sikorsky
unveiled its X2 Technology Demonstrator this weekend at the George
R. Brown Convention Center at Heli-Expo 2008.
Formed in 1970 at Brampton, Ontario in Canada, this all-volunteer
group is dedicated to recreating the sights, sounds and feel of
World War One combat aircraft. In doing so, they honor the pilots
who served with gallantry and distinction during the Great War of
1914 - 1918.
"The issue is currently under investigation and we are
cooperating fully with the Federal Aviation Administration. Both
pilots have been removed from flight duties pending the
outcome."
