On Wednesday, the NTSB says it welcomed actions taken by
collegiate associations in response to its recommendation aimed at
improving the safety of student athletic team transportation.
Joint Surveillance and Target Attack Radar Systems – A
joint US Army and Air Force project. A reconnaissance aircraft
whose sophisticated long-range radar can detect moving vehicles or
other targets in all weather conditions.
"The FAA will use those grants as a hammer over our
heads. Since it's the will of this board (to become independent),
I'm OK with that. That may change their attitude a little bit --
they want to control our airport."
