The Diamond D-JET Takes Major Step Toward Finishing

Good grief, we hope this is a sign of better things to come, but
a missive from Diamond Aircraft, possibly the only remaining GA
manufacturer engaged in serious product development, tells us that
the D-Jet program is back in the air. Diamond says that their
single-engine jet development program resumed flight testing of
their D-JET prototypes, following their temporary grounding after a
funding shortfall and significant employee furloughs in March,
2011.
Searchers Were Looking For The Lost "Progress" Spacecraft
Russian crews hoping to locate the wreckage of the "Progress 44"
spacecraft which failed to achieve orbit last moth have come across
an accident of a different kind. They have located the wreckage of
an Mi-2 helicopter which went down 25 years ago on a firefighting
mission.
A memorandum of understanding for the purchase of 20 AW139
helicopters to be assembled in Russia has been signed by Russian
Helicopters and AgustaWestland. The two entities also recently
announced the establishment of HeliVert, a joint venture
company which will assemble and deliver to UTair a batch of AW139
helicopters from its Tomilino plant in the Moscow region.
Ninth Fixed-Wing Aircraft To Be Utilized By The Company
Geospatial solution firm AeroMetric has taken delivery of a
Piper Navajo Chieftain as part of its continued technology renewal
and expansion strategy to support projects nationwide. This
airplane joins AeroMetric’s existing fleet of eight
fixed-wing aircraft that can be fitted with any of their three
digital mapping cameras, two airborne LiDAR sensors and six film
cameras.
