Controllers 'Scrambled to Keep Planes Safe'
The National Air Traffic Controllers
Association is alerting the public to yet another complaint in
which they allege the FAA has failed to meet its safety
obligations.
American Eurocopter has announced the deadline to apply for the
third annual Vision Zero Aviation Safety Award has been extended
until September 11, 2009. This prestigious award aims to promote
aviation safety within the air medical community and American
Eurocopter will contribute up to $10,000 to the winner.
The official presentation of the first ATR '-600 series'
aircraft, an ATR 72-600, will take place at a ceremony October 1st
in Toulouse, France. ATR said in a news release the new '-600
series' program for both models, ATR 72-600 and ATR 42-600,
launched in October 2007, is progressing on schedule.
AgustaWestland and UI International (UII) have been awarded a
contract by the Korean Public Procurement Services to supply the
Korea National Police Agency (KNPA) with one AW119Ke law
enforcement helicopter as part of an on-going program to modernize
the Police helicopter fleet.
