Finally!  The first time I saw the GippsAERO GA8, the first thing I though was “that airplane needs a turbine!”  GrippsAERO is developing a big brother to the GA8 and has named the project the GA10. GippsAERO and Rolls-Royce signed an agreement Wednesday to supply the Rolls-Royce M250-B17F/2 engine for the GA-10 ten passenger airplane.

Blackhawk ... the modification company, not the helicopter ... recently certified the XP42A upgrade on the Cessna Caravan with the FAA. The upgrade installs an 850 shp PT6A-42 with a new engine warranty. It also installs a new carbon composite, frakes exhaust stacks and a Hartzell 100” four blade propeller.

The Heck With The Apples, An Airplane Lesson A Day....

Over 200 teachers from as far as Chevak, Alaska came to the Founders Wing at the EAA AirVenture Museum to attend an event called “Teachers Day”. The event is intended to inspire educators to appreciate the value of aviation as an education tool and provide examples of resources that can be brought to the classroom. Teachers at all grade levels (K-12) from across the United States were invited to participate at no charge.

Composite Helicopter, a New Zealand company, introduced their new kit helicopter at AirVenture this week.The KC-518 Adventourer kit helicopter is a high-end kit. The company states that it carries 5-6 people, has 36 cu ft of baggage space, cruises at 135 kts, carries up to 141 gal. of fuel, and has a 1450 lb. useful load with a direct operating cost of approximately $125 per hour.
