Connecticut State Police Helo Rarely Flies

'Trooper One' Logged Only 42 Hours Last Year

When it was purchased, the Connecticut State Police hailed their "Trooper One" helicopter as a state-of-the-art tool for law enforcement ... and it made appearances all over the state. In 2002 ... its first full year of operation ... the aircraft flew nearly 1,000 hours over 490 missions.Television station WFSB found that last year, the helo flew only 42 missions totalling 42 hours.

Mystery Object Spotted By Pilot Prompts Investigation

FAA Looking Into Monday Incident Over Denver

An unidentified object over Denver has led to an FAA investigation. The object appeared Monday when the pilot of a Cessna Citation CJ1 flying at 8,000ft MSL called ATC to report “A remote-controlled aircraft, or what? Something just went by the other way, about 20 to 30 seconds ago. It was like a large remote-controlled aircraft.”
