The 2012 AEA Convention and trade show had much to boast about... great news, exciting product unveilings and no end of interesting products and people to feature. However; one of the most interesting aspects of this year;'s event was the outstanding address given to the membership by AEA President Paula Derks. Leading one of the most technically complex industry associations in the world, Derks argued forcefully for a new attitude for an industry victimized by blundering politics, pointless bureaucracy and a doddering economy by "Taking Back Our Industry."

Alexander Amendment Would Shift Some FAA Responsibility To The National Parks Service

The U.S. House of Representatives has now selected its conferees to iron out differences with the Senate over competing versions of the Highway Reauthorization Bill. Embedded in the Senate version, S. 1813, is language inserted by Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) that would shift FAA authority to regulate air tour operators over national parks to the National Park Service.

Florida-Built Phenom 100 Goes To Canada

Embraer Executive Jets made its first international delivery of a US-made Phenom 100 when Canadian Businessman Tasso Kostelidis took delivery on March 31. “Canada is a strong and growing market for Embraer,” said Vice President Sales-North America Bob Knebel as he joined Kostelidis at the end of the three-day delivery process.
