Sixteen South Florida Residents Charged with Operating Hialeah Commercial Aircraft Cockpit Window Repair Company Without FAA Certifications

A twenty-one count indictment unsealed by federal officials late last month charges sixteen south-Florida defendants in connection with the continued operation of ATR Aircraft Transparencies Repair Inc., a Hialeah-based company that overhauled large commercial aircraft cockpit windows, despite having had their FAA certificate to operate revoked.

Eclipse Operator Receives Part 135 Paperless Cockpit Approval

North American Jet Charter Group Moves To iPad EFB

North American Jet Charter Group (NAJ) has recently been approved for a paperless cockpit on Part 135 flights. The iPad will now become an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) for all NAJ operated Eclipse Jets. This approval gives pilots the option to use Foreflight or Jeppesen en route and approach charts as well as paperless versions of General Operating Manuals and Minimum Equipment Lists — all stored and referenced through the iPad interface.

EASA Certifies FreeFlight Systems Radar Altimeter

Company Continues To Expand European Presence

Avionics supplier FreeFlight Systems announced Wednesday that Heli Air Monaco has received EASA certification for the RA-4000 Radar Altimeter installed in Eurocopter AS350, AS355 and EC130 helicopters. The certifications cover most of Heli Air Monaco’s fleet of 14 helicopters used in scheduled and on-demand passenger, freight and other services.

The Aircraft Electronics Association is urging its members in the U.S. to contact their member of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives and request they sign a letter in support of a provision in H.R. 7, the American Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act, or the Highway Bill of 2012, which would repeal the fuel fraud provision.
