Fuel Guage Issues May Result In Fuel Exhaustion

The FAA has issues a Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) directed to owners and operators of Enstrom Helicopter Corporation-manufactured (Enstrom) 280 FX helicopters of a false fuel quantity indication with subsequent risk exposure to fuel exhaustion during flight. At this time, the FAA feels this airworthiness concern is not an unsafe condition that would warrant an AD.

Company Handed Over Keys To 38 Airplanes In 2011

In its fourth-best year for deliveries since 1990, Daher-Socata announced Monday that 38 TBM 850s were delivered in 2011, bringing to 260 the total number of its latest very fast turboprop aircraft received by customers since being introduced in 2006. The company's 600th aircraft rolled out of the factory last October.

Savoy, Illinois -based Flightstar recently purchased the assets of Bloomington Avionics Inc. of Bloomington, IL. The transfer was completed Dec. 29, 2011. The staff at Bloomington Avionics, as well as its complete line of overhead and services, will transfer and now operate from Flightstar’s fixed base operator facility at Champaign-Urbana’s University of Illinois-Willard Airport (KCMI).

Kagoshima International Aviation Takes Delivery Of GrandNew Helicopter

Helo To Be Tasked With Medical Services Missions In Southern Japan

Kagoshima International Aviation of Japan has taken delivery of an AgustaWestland GrandNew light twin helicopter, according to a news release from the helicopter manufacturer and aircraft leasing agent Kaigai Aviotech Corporation. This aircraft will be used to perform emergency medical service missions in the Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Japan.
