The US National Transportation Safety Board says the FAA
requirement for retention of documents related to the testing and
maintenance of the skins of some Boeing airliners is inadequate to
allow it to reach conclusions on the causes of recent ruptures of
fuselages.

Vandalism On Lower Fuselages Has An "Arabic" Appearance
Federal authorities are working with Southwest Airlines to
determine how some of the carrier's 737s were vandalized over the
past several months. The planes were marked with a chemical that
does not appear until the its APUs are activated, heating the skin
of the airplane.
