United, Delta, American All Boost Holiday Ticket Prices

$10 Surcharge Added To Some Holiday Travel

Delta Airlines has joined America and United in tacking a $10 holiday travel surcharge on to tickets purchased for travel on November 29th, and January 2nd and 3rd. Those dates normally see a large surge in the number of travelers returning from holiday visits.

Atlanta Airport Chief Calls For Higher Fees

DeCosta Says Federal Passenger Facilities Cap Should Be Raised To $7.50

Passengers at Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport already pay the maximum $4.50 per ticket in passenger facility charges, but airport manager Ben DeCosta is calling on congress to raise that ceiling to $7.50, with an opportunity for further increases.

Trouble On The Horizon -- EU Set To Propose Aviation Emissions Caps

Will Ask For 10% Below 2005 Levels By 2015

Industry analysts expect the European Union to propose that aviation cut its so-called greenhouse gas emissions back to 90% of 2005 levels over the next decade. The proposal could come at the climate talks slated for Bangkok. Aviation was not covered by the Kyoto protocol.
