Airbus managing director Fabrice Bregier said the aircraft
manufacturer could be facing production cuts if airlines continue
to falter. Bregier made the statement at a business conference in
Toulouse, France Friday.
US Airways announced today that Capt. Chesley "Sully"
Sullenberger, who piloted Flight 1549 during its emergency water
landing on the Hudson River in January, is returning to work in a
new role as a management pilot.
Mid Continent And John Wayne Airports Receive Grants For
Advanced Screening Devices
TSA last week announced an award of nearly $6.9 million to
Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT) and approximately $8.8 million
for John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, California, for the
construction of inline baggage screening systems designed to
enhance TSA's efforts to strengthen security at airports.
TSA Says Security Procedures Were Followed Properly
Utah Republican Jason Chaffetz is not a fan of body scan
machines used by TSA to screen some passengers before getting on an
airliner. Returning to Washington recently from Utah, he says he
was directed to a line that included the full body scan, and when
he refused, he says he was challenged by TSA employees.
TSA recently announced approximately $5 million in funding for
the purchase of additional equipment for a closed circuit
television (CCTV) system at San Francisco International Airport
(SFO), and approximately $6 million award for the installation of a
similar system at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
(DFW).
