In response to numerous reports of fires near the windshields of
several Boeing aircraft over the past three years, on Wednesday the
National Transportation Safety Board issued two safety
recommendations calling for operators of Boeing 747, 757, 767, and

Well, desperate times call for desperate measures and an
airline, apparently, is no exception. Plagued by persistent
mechanical difficulties with one of its Boeing 757s, officials with
Nepal Airlines tried taking repairs to a new level Tuesday.
Says Plan Will Reduce Delays, Cut Noise For Half A Million
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced Wednesday it
has issued a final decision for redesigning the New York, New
Jersey, and Philadelphia metropolitan area airspace -- a move
the agency asserts will reduce delays, fuel consumption,
aircraft emissions and noise.
Even on a day that saw some discouraging news for Boeing's 787
program, as the planemaker announced a two-month delay in the plane's first
flight... there was some good news, as well. Boeing
and Aeroflot, Russia's flagship carrier based in Moscow, announced
Wednesday they have finalized an order for 22 Boeing 787-8s.
