June 2009 Employment Down 6.3 Percent From A Year Ago
U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 6.3 percent fewer
workers in June 2009 than in June 2008, the 12th consecutive
decrease in full-time equivalent employee (FTE) levels for the
scheduled passenger carriers from the same month of the previous
year.

The FAA is superseding an existing airworthiness directive
(AD), which applies to certain Boeing Model 737-600, -700, -700C,
-800, and -900 series airplanes. This new AD requires an
additional operational test of the P5-14 panel.
MANUFACTURER: Airbus Model A318, A319, A320,
and A321 Series Airplanes
One case of elevator servo-control disconnection has been
experienced on an aircraft of the A320 family. Failure occurred at
the servo-control rod eye-end.
OAG Reports Capacity Grew 0.2% Over August Of 2008
Global airline capacity is showing marginal growth for August
2009, the first month of positive growth for a year, reports OAG,
an aviation data business. The world's airlines have 314.2 million
seats on offer this month, a rise of 0.2% (472,839 more seats) over
August 2008 levels.
