Airbus Makes Mobile A320 Plant Official

Final Assembly Facility For The Single-Aisle Airliners To Open In The U.S.

In what it billed as a major strategic announcement Monday, which was maybe one of the worst-kept secrets in aviation last month, Airbus said it will establish a manufacturing facility in the United States to assemble and deliver A320 Family aircraft. Located at the Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile, Alabama, it will be the company’s first U.S.-based production facility.

Delta Pilots Ratify New Contract

Deal Will Accelerate Replacement Of Small Regional Jets By The Airline

The pilots of Delta Air Lines, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), have ratified an amended collective bargaining agreement (CBA) the union announced Friday. The agreement, reached over seven months ahead of the December 31, 2012 amendable date, was approved by the unions governing body, the Delta Master Executive Council (MEC), in May and sent to the Delta pilots for membership ratification earlier this month.

Rolls-Royce Completes IAE Restructuring

Collaboration Produces The V2500 Engine For The A320

Rolls-Royce has confirmed that it has completed the restructuring of its participation in International Aero Engines (IAE) Collaboration, which produces the V2500 engine for the Airbus A320 family of aircraft. Rolls-Royce has sold its equity and program shares in the IAE Collaboration to Pratt & Whitney for a $1.5 billion.
